Bowlero South Seattle
April 2nd, 2022

Total Paid Out: $8,803.00

Wrap Up

Today 129 bowlers rolled into the beautiful Bowlero-Acme Lanes.  This is one of the nicest houses we bowl in and it usually gives us some of the best scoring challenges around.  26 players made the Cash List, and we almost had our 7th straight week with 1st Place paying over $2,000.00, coming just $26 short of extending the streak.  The scoring couldn't have been more perfect!  With an very ideal 'Cut-Line' at 920 and bowlers cracking the 1000 plateau (bunched between 1002-1009), we couldn't have asked for better numbers!  The impressive 1052 Winning score was the only score out of the norm, providing a HUGE 43 pin margin of Victory.  The Tour's popularity seems to be EXPLODING over the last month with 45 New Members, including 14 who joined at Acme this week.  The big feat we saw was who made the Cash List their first time out... not easy to do!  Congratulations to those three Rookies, 6th Anthony Hill10th Brian Ahern, and 22nd Mary Bridgman. who also performed an even rarer feat for a first timer.  With the 9-Tap Jackpot at a hefty $8,104.00, bowlers decided to attack the Middle-7 Taps this week.

Ruong Tang (top photo) had TWO runs in one game interrupted by two splits... Brian Peters (bottom photo)could have had the Middle-7, but was foiled with a spare in the middle.

Mary Bridgman stepped up in the final squad, stringing ALL SEVEN Taps near the end of her last game, earning her a Sweet $750.00 in cash from the Jackpot.  Also a big thumbs up to Brett Schaaf for tossing his first 9-Tap 300 which helped propel him into 5th place with his 1002 series.

Our Champion Saturday was Shawn Beers, who returned to the Tour last week after a 10 year layoff from bowling since March of 2012.  His persistence really paid off this week... both last week and through his first two entries at AcmeShawn had thrown some very nice games, but each entry also included some clunkers.  After shooting 775 and 867 in the first two squads, Shawn debated if he wanted to re-enter in the 3rd squad.  Obviously he was happy with his decision, his THIRD entry was the charm as he put together FOUR good games to run away with the Title.  Using his Motive Mythical Jackal, drilled by Tom Stahl at West Seattle BowlShawn just lit up the lanes firing a fantastic 1052 series and winning by 43 pins.  This is Shawn's 1st Tour Title and clearly his Personal Best series.  Shawn would like to thank his girlfriend, Sydni, for cheering him on, and his father Jim Rash for introducing him to bowling.  Shawn brings home a really nice 1st place check of $1,974.00.  The Win will also earn him additional perks... he will earn an automatic Invitation to the Year-End Championship and it will vault him well up the ladder in the Bowler of the Year standings.

In contention for the ChampionshipJohn 'The Undertaker' Moore Jr took second place this week.  John earned that nickname by Winning the final Tournaments at both Pacific Narrows... I'm sure if Acme was closing John would have won... just kidding John.  The TWO TIME Tour Winner was the leader after the second squad with his nice 1009 series.  John shared the Cash List this week with his son Ohnja who finished in 14th Place.  John's second place finish cashes in at $889.00

Coming off a 2nd Place finish last week and leading after the 1st squad this week, a very HOT Brian 'The Heartbreak Kid' Peters finished in 3rd Place.  Still trying for his second TitleBrian has been on fire, shooting a great 1005 series this time around.  His only down game was a 186 third game that most likely foiled his effort for his second Tour Title.  We hope a nice $457.00 check will soothe the wound.  The good news for Brian, was that he slipped in just ahead of Andy Snow by ONE PIN!!
