Our Champ Mikael Stevens found Tower lanes so much to his liking, his first request was, "Can we bowl here every week"? This is the 1st Title for the 19 year old, making him the 2nd teenager to capture a win on the Tour this year. Mikael didn't bowl like a 'Rookie' though. He needed to finish with two strong games for a chance to win. He 'Rose to the Challenge' like a veteran, throwing back-to-back 278's to run away with it, ending with a FANTASTIC 1104 series. As is often the case, when you get in a 'ZONE', nothing slows you down. Many thought the shot was tough Saturday, some thought lanes 1 & 2 were particularly difficult... Mikael finished on that pair and never looked back! He also showed some maturity, saying that he would put his $1,680.00 in winnings into savings, although his Mom, Chris, said she was taking her cut first. Mikael does his League bowling at Skyway Park. The weapon of choice for his win, was his Morich "Shock & Awe", drilled by Ed Dolfay at the Skyway Pro Shop. CONGRATULATIONS on Win #1!
Bill Freeland was also seeking his 1st Title. His 1064 was looking good, after sitting on Top all day, but it did hang on for 2nd Place. With only $10 in the Pro Pot, it was still good for $576.00. In 3rd Place, 'Returning to the Scene' of his $4,757.00 Jackpot win in August, was Paul Mann, with a nice 1050. Obviously, Paul likes Tower too, but with zero in the Pro Pot, this one was worth only $260.00.
The Tour also wants to say 'Aloha' to Raymond & Pearl Sedeno, who are moving back to Hawaii this week. Ray managed an 8th Place finish before they head for the SUN.
