Big Turnout for "Best 3 of 4" at Tower Lanes!
111 Entries Lead to $2,317.00 Payday!
Champion Brian Selck

We were able to get in another big day Saturday, THANKS to everyone checking in early. That allowed us to start nearly every squad on time. Another HUGE 2:30 squad (54 entries) finished by 5:00, despite having 7 bowlers on most pairs. That allowed us to get right into the 5:00 squad just a couple minutes late. A lighter than expected last squad, held the numbers to 111 entries for the day, still a great turnout with only 3 squads. The scoring was balanced all day with some of the Top scores coming from each squad. By the end of the day, the Winning scores and the Cash Line were right on the norms. The 9-Tap Jackpot jumps back up to $7,016.00 after only paying out $200 this week. $100 to Eric Pham and $100 to Frank Funis. The Progressive Pot remains on the high side at $1,929.00, which will make for a nice payout at Narrows Plaza in two weeks. Next week is a bye.

Our Tower Lanes Champion Brian Selck FINALLY takes down his 1st 9-Tap Tour Title, shooting a great 850. He expressed his relief to finally get the "Monkey Off His Back"! In Brian's two and a half years on Tour, he's had 6 TOP FIVE finishes, including a 2nd place EQC Championship finish in June 2007. That EQC came down to a tough 10th frame in the Final match. Ironically, this weeks $2,317.00 for 1st place paid even better than the 2007 EQC did. To give you an idea about Brian's competitiveness, his Top 10 finish in the 2007 Bowler of the Year standings came with TWO footnotes. 1) He made the Top 10 without winning a Title. 2) In one Tournament at Skyway Park, he got out of the Hospital long enough to bowl (still wearing his bracelet) and he cashed. When asked what he'd do with his winnings, he said, "His wife had already spent it"! But, he also let on that his daughter Aryelle is graduating from High School. Brian works at Ft. Lewis and does his League Bowling at Aztec Bowl in Olympia. His ball today was a Storm Double Agent that he had drilled while in Las Vegas. Brian credits his working at "Positive Thinking" for helping him Saturday. CONGRATULATIONS Brian on #1!!

Tour Veteran Steve Lawrence took 2nd, shooting a strong 828. Steve has won a lot of money at Tower Lanes over the years. This Tournament added another $1,027.00 to his Tower tally... A pretty HUGE payday for 2nd place. Another Vet, Gus Ramos Jr had a clutch final game to pull out 3rd place and a very nice $563.00. Gus also supplemented his prize money by picking up an extra $170 from game and series Pots.
