The "Sky High" scores continued in the Sunday Qualifying squads and in the Finals as well. We've never seen scores like this at Skyway. To make the Finals, as 33 Members did, it took some outstanding bowling! On Saturday the 997 "Cut" score was 50 pins above the norm. On Sunday, the Cut jumped even higher to 1028, with several bowlers cracking 1000 without qualifying for the Finals. Despite the high scores needed to make the Finals, we had all skill levels and all ages of bowlers in the mix. FIVE ladies made the Finals, including our Top Qualifier Shannon Peterson who won the Hammer "Hot Sauce", a Jacket & $100 Bonus, to go with her 5th place finish. We really had some awesome matches in the Finals! One example of a tough loss: Jeff Knapp getting knocked-out by Brian Burfoot 273 to 269 in a Semi-Final match. Our THANKS to all the Members who participated this weekend, for helping to make it such a special weekend!

Our EQC Champion, Rich Eaton takes down his 6th Career Title (5 Singles & 1 Doubles). This was his 1st EQC Championship Title and his BIGGEST payday at $2,006.00. Rich has been in a bit of a dry spell for a while, his last Singles Title came in 2007, the year that he was also the "Bowler of the Year". He said he's had a case of "Split-i-tus" for months. Well, on Saturday he did get a bunch of splits, but he tried again on Sunday. Not many splits on Sunday!! In the 11:00 am squad he shot a solid 1009. But, after seeing Saturday's scores, he worried that it might not be good enough, so he entered the 1:00 squad. He's a genius... The 1009 wouldn't have been enough... The 1071 he followed it up with was an indication of how 'Locked-In' he was. In one memorable match, Rich faced a "Red-Hot" Shannon Peterson, who had just thrown a 300 the previous match. They both started off with the 1st SIX strikes and it didn't look like either of them was going to blink. Shannon blinked... Rich went off the page with a 300 of his own. The Championship Match also started with both stringing strikes, before Rich locked it up. CONGRATULATIONS Rich and welcome back to the "Winner's Circle".

In 2nd Place, Brian Burfoot also had some impressive games in the Finals and certainly pushed Rich in the Championship match. Brian was seeking his 1st Tour Title, settling instead for $1,000.00 in runner-up money. In a 3rd place tie, Rhodie Laed shot 3 straight games over 250, and Leon Bemis also had some BIG games including a 288. Both took home $500 for 3rd.
