A GREAT turnout, produces a 'Cash List' of 20 Members. The scores were very moderate all day and the winning score of 1041, was posted in the 1st squad. It was a very beatable score that many had in their sights, but no one took it down. In the end, only TWO members topped the 1000 mark. The 9-Tap Jackpot grows to $7,004.00, despite Shannon Peterson and Roland Jarata each winning $100 in Consolation Bonuses. For the second week in a row, an entrant said, "I don't get that many 9-Taps, so I'm not getting into the Pot". Then they both go right out and start a game with 4 No-Taps, which would have netted each of them $100! Our next Tournament, in two weeks, takes us to one of the three centers where the Jackpot got hit last year. Bowlero has a history with the Tour of being an excellent 9-Tap house. We also want to say, "Welcome Back" to several members who haven't bowled in some time, who returned this weekend.
Our Skyway Champion is Cecil Abay-Abay, winning his FIRST Tour Title. Talk about persistence... Cecil is an original member of the Tour, with membership #8, having joined in 2002. He has come close many times, finally breaking through this week. Cecil also bowls in the Saturday evening FABC League at Skyway, so he was bowling when he learned that he won the Tournament. His immortal first comment was to exclaim... FINALLY! His persistence paid off this week for a $1,750.00 payday for his 1041 series. One of Cecil's hobbies is drilling Bowling Balls. He has a Pro Shop set up in his garage, called Abay's Ball Clinic, and plans on using his winnings to add to his shop. Obviously, he did the drilling on his Ebonite "The One", used for his win. He has worked for King County for 22 years. Cecil's other hobby is to fix-up old cars. He recently sold a 1951 Chrysler Windsor that he had been working on. CONGRATULATIONS Cecil on win #1.
Gus Ramos III had a fantastic last two games to come within 8 pins of his first Title, with a fine 1033, good for $800. He also netted an extra $140 from the Scratch Pot. Aaron Eidet tied for 3rd with another 1st squad score of 1000. John Trausch continued his Hot Streak with his 1000 series. Both take home $335.
