An impressive 11 Members cracked the 1000 mark this week. That's the second time this year, that we've had some very nice scoring at Roxbury Lanes. We had 93 entries over the 3 squads, creating a Cash List of 18 Members. For the 2nd straight week, the winner had only $10 in the Progressive Pot, which boosts next weeks Pot to a huge $2,374.00. The 9-Tap Jackpot also grows to a healthy $3,011.00, after Kathy Johnson took home $100 for her 5 No-Taps.
Our Roxbury Champion is part of the original 2002 group, when the Tour first formed, Bob Rouse (#35). After winning 2 Titles in his first 2 years, Bob's finally broken a 5 year Title drought. He's had SEVEN Top 5 finishes in the last 3 years, but over the last 6 months Bob has struggled. As a result of those struggles, for the first time, Bob decided to only put $10 in the Progressive Pot. Wouldn't you know it, that's when he gets HOT and wins?! You really never know when you're going to get HOT. He needed a 'Clutch' spare (2-4-5) in the 10th frame to pull it out by only 10 pins, with a spectacular 1122 series. Even with only half of what he could have won from the Pro Pot, Bob still had a nice $1,463.00 payday. He used his trusty old "Sun Storm", drilled by Pat Johns at HiLine, for his breakout win. Bob asked us to thank his friends Tong Nguyen, Jon Schneider, Jessica (Wy) Marcello and David Wenzer, for their support. CONGRATULATIONS Bob!!
Eric Pham suffered the 'Heart Breaking' loss, after shooting what looked like an insurmountable 1112. Eric's score was nearly 100 pins above his previous best and good for a sweet $901.00 2nd Place check. Patrick Robbins shot more like a normal winning score with a 1058, good for 3rd Place and $475.00.
Reminder: Next week we will return to our 4-Squad Summer Schedule of 12:00 - 2:00 re-oil 4:30 - 6:30, for our 1-Day Tournaments. So, remind your friends that work Saturdays, we again have a late squad that might better fit their work schedule.
CONGRATULATIONS to Paul and Jessica Marcello, just back from their Las Vegas wedding!!!
