The BIGGEST surprise this weekend, was how challenging the newly resurfaced wood lanes were. Many bowlers told me that they thought the shot was very hitable, but it changed steadily during each squad. The low scores didn't change the balanced Cash List, with the High, Medium & Low level handicaps all well represented. Why the Ladies like Paradise so much, I don't know! They not only won their third straight Tournament at Paradise, they also took the Top 2 spots Saturday. The 9-Tap Jackpot only paid out a $100 Consolation to Tong Nguyen this week, but that means it grows to $4,081.00. So, for HiLine next week, we will try to pay out even MORE of the Jackpot money. We will BOOST the Consolation back to $500 for 6 No-Taps, $250 for 5, $100 for 4 & $50 for 3.

Our Paradise Champion is Lisa Ohm. This is Lisa's 1st Career Title, since joining the Tour, with her Partner Rob White, in 2006. Rob had shot well in the 4:30 squad, sitting in 3rd Place, only 4 pins behind the leader, while Lisa really struggled. With the Top score at only 777, I heard Lisa tell Rob emphatically, that she knew she could shoot that. She was true to her word! On her re-entry, she was the only Member to crack 800 on the day, shooting an AWESOME 814. In the process, she bumped Rob down to 4th place, yet he couldn't have been happier for her! Lisa said that it had to be 'Her Day', based on how many ugly shots she got away with. It didn't take her long to decide what to do with her $1,728.00 windfall. She said that her 20 year old Storm bowling ball HAD to go! She promptly set up an appointment with Fred for Monday to get a new ball, asking if he had any that were kind of "Orangey". Then she decided that her 20 year old bowling shoes might need to go away as well. It was sounding a lot like a shopping spree, until she said that the rest would go toward a trip to Hawaii. Lisa & Rob do their League bowling at Cascade (now Hooters) Bowl, which just re-opened last week. She has worked as a Real Estate Agent for the past 8 years and they both like to ride Motorcycles in the summer. CONGRATULATIONS Lisa on #1.

Our 2nd & 3rd Place finishers both shot in the 1st Squad, and they had held on to the Top TWO spots all afternoon, until Lisa got Hot. Sue Packman shot the 777 that nearly hung-on, taking $615.00 for 2nd. She was seeking her first win since 2005. Larry Tibbetts Sr was looking for his 1st Tour Title, but settled for $405.00 for his 774.
