Talk about diversity! The Top 4 Finishers were all seeking their 1st Tour victory... One has been an active Member for a Year... One a Member for 2+ years... One was a New Member... and the Winner, was one of the Tour's Original 100 Members in 2002. The scoring this week was exactly where we like to see it for the 'Best 3 of 4' format. Just three of the 21 'Cashers' topped 800, with the other 18 densely packed within just over a 50 pin range. The next 22 Members, who just missed the 'Cash List', were also densely packed, all cracking the 700 mark. Definitely some balanced scoring this week, on a very nice shot at Narrows Plaza. But, no one could string more than 4 No-Taps. So, we had FOUR bowlers all tied with 4, leaving the Pot to grow to $4,488.00 for the EQC Championship in two weeks.
Our Newest Champion joined the Tour just weeks after it first formed. MacArthur (Mac) Brown finally wins that elusive 1st Title. He's been around for a while, as his Member #56 indicates. Mac didn't bowl continuously on the Tour over those years, but the Win was certainly overdue. Similar to last weeks winner, Mac had been in a bit of a 'Slump'. The Slump continued in his first entry, but he stuck with it and tried again. His re-entry didn't start out any better, opening with a 160 game, but he sure got hot on his last three games, ending with a strong 843. Mac was under a lot of pressure to do well this weekend, after his close friend and bowling buddy Wess Hall made $500 last week. He used his Hammer "Jigsaw Chalk", drilled by Pat Johns, for his win. You'll usually find Mac bowling with Wess Hall and Rose LeMaster. Everyone that's bowled with Mac appreciates his smiling, upbeat nature. No surprise that when he was asked what he'd do with his $2,012.00 in winnings, he said, "SPEND IT"! He also said, like the other MacArthur... I Shall Return! CONGRATS Mac on Win #1.
