What a difference a week makes! Last week, 1st place had a whooping 103 pin cushion over 2nd place. This week, 1st, 2nd & 3rd were separated by a total of only 4 pins and even more amazingly, 1st & 21st were separated by only 84 pins! Another five members were within 8 pins (one mark) of the "Cash Line". All four members who cracked 1000, did it early in the day, with 3 of those 4 coming in the 1st squad (12:00), the other one coming in the 2nd squad (2:00). With the relatively low Top score of 1024, dozens of bowlers had a shot at the Top Spot going in to their last game. It made for an exciting day, with very tight competition from beginning to end. The Progressive Pot again JUMPS back to Extra Large sized, at $2,048.00 for our Mom's Day Special next week. The 9-Tap Jackpot continues to climb, now up to $3,487.00.

Our HiLine Champ is "Home Grown" in every way. Jon Schneider won his 3rd career Title and first title in over a year. HiLine is not only Jon's home house, he also organized and runs a 20 team, 9-Tap League there during the winter. There were several similarities with Jon's last win at Skyway in March 2008. Last year he was rehabbing from a knee injury and not bowling very well, so he didn't think he had any chance of winning. As a result, he had put ZERO in the Progressive Pot. This year, he's had hand and shoulder problems that he's been doing physical therapy for, and really has struggled with his bowling. He initially was going to put zero in the Pot again, but had flashbacks to last year, so he went ahead and put in $10. That's why the Pro Pot takes a big jump for next week, from the $421 he 'left on the table'. That still left him with a $1,421.00 payday, that Jon called, "A miracle"! He said that he was only hoping that his 1024 was enough to hold on for maybe 4th or 5th place. Not only did Jon confess to "Winning Ugly", due to several nice breaks, he credited the narrow 3 pin margin of victory to the 'Bonus Pin' he had just picked up a week ago. Jon used his Columbia "Messenger" drilled for him by Pat Johns at the HiLine Pro Shop. CONGRATULATIONS Jon on Title #3!

With a VERY nice $837.00 share for 2nd Place, Bill Fowler's 1021 not only came close to 1st (3 pins), he narrowly beat Lisa Ohm's 1020. Bill was seeking his 2nd Tour Title, while Lisa was looking for her 1st Title. Lisa was also a bundle of nerves all afternoon, hoping to hang onto 3rd, which was her personal best finish. Nelson Sand took home $100 from the Jackpot, for his 4 No-Taps, while Jon Schneider won an extra $200 out of the Scratch Pot.

NEXT WEEK: Is a regular Tournament format, with a Mom's Day Special Pot at Cascade Lanes (Renton). We will 'kick-in' $100 to start a special pot for MOM's ONLY ($5). Last year we paid out $260 to the 3 Mom's with Highest Games (w/hdcp) for the day. We also had a Tour record 178 entries last year, for the one day Tournament.
