We are Two for Two in 2009. As good a start as we had in 2008, we've now Topped last years opening Tournaments TWICE! Nice way to start the year!! With a tie for the last spot, we paid an extra (22nd) place this week. For the 2nd straight week, we only had ONE member with 3-No Taps or more, so Ted Sherman takes a $50 Consolation Bonus. The 9-Tap Jackpot now Jumps to an even more HUMUNGOUS $6,706.00, as we head to the 'brand new' lanes at Narrows Plaza next week. We've seen a lot of corner pins at Narrows, so could this could be a spot for a BIG payout? There were a lot of excited bowlers Saturday, with Tour favorite Mark Andersson atop the Leader Board for the first 2 squads, with his personal best 1033. 4 members took a run at Mark in the last squad, 2 starting out with 2 BIG games, 1 had 2 BIG games in the middle and 1 finished with 2 BIG games. The BIG FINISHER won it all!
John Trausch wins his 3rd career Championship and a nice $1,740.00 at HiLine Lanes. Those 2 BIG finishing games also earned him an extra $220 from the Scratch Game & Series Pot and $46 more from the Hdcp Game Pot, to push his Total to over $2,000.00 for his afternoons effort. John now has one Title each for the last three years (2007-2008-2009). John had two very pretty 'Good Luck' charms with him for support, daughters Katrina and Amanda. When asked what he would do with his winnings, he said, "He was sure the girls would think of something"! I'm sure his wife Angeli was also one of 'the girls'. His Storm "El Nino" did the job on the lanes and Cory, at Bowl Doc's, did the drilling at the shop. John said he appreciates the positive atmosphere at the Tournaments, especially the group he bowled with Saturday. CONGRATULATIONS John on #3.
Finishing in a TIE at 2nd Place were Paul King and Dax Colwell. Paul is a Tour Veteran, who obviously got lined up in his first entry and started out on fire in his re-entry. Paul takes home $602.00 for the tie at 1043. Newcomer Dax Colwell, in only his 2nd Tour entry, matched Paul's 1043 score, and with $10 in the Pro Pot, takes a total of $491.00. Mark Andersson had his best finish, hanging on for 4th place.
