We saw some EXCELLENT bowling in the Finals Sunday, which 'Capped-Off' a FANTASTIC weekend overall. The 152 entries was a Record for our "Special" $1,000.00 Added Tournament format and the $10,028.00 total paid-out. was also the largest ever for this format. A record 30 members made the Finals and low to cash went home with $100. Ken Seaton's HUGE 1141 on Saturday, swept the Top Qualifier bonuses, the $100, the Hammer "Hot Sauce" & Tour Jacket. Sunday again saw slightly lower qualifying scores, with 898 making the cut, and only one Member topping 1000, with David Kim shooting a strong 1024. BIG THANKS to all who joined us for the 'After-Party' at Hooters Restaurant. It was a nice turnout at the restaurant and we really had some fun (read on). We appreciated Hooters sponsorship this weekend and they were excellent hosts as well!

Our 1st Hooters/Budweiser Tournament Champion is Samson Ibale. This Title was worth a hefty $2,081.00. His last win came over a year ago at Pacific Lanes (August 2008). With membership #11, he's obviously an original Tour Member, joining in 2001, making him a regular now for over 8 years. This makes it SEVEN Titles for Samson, putting him in a tie with Mitch Vernon & Tong Nguyen for the most career victories. Samson qualified on Saturday with a 960 and shot some very nice games early in the Finals. But, he did escape with a couple of 'close calls', including a narrow 2-pin victory over Nelson Sand in his semi-final match. In the Final Match against Paul Marcello, both started with 4 strikes and then both opened the 5th frame. Samson had the longer finishing string of strikes at the end of the game, to pull out the win. The picture below, shows Samson at Hooters with his "Crown", which was presented to him shortly after his "Victory Dance", done to "I'm a Little Teapot". You had to be there to truly appreciate it! Samson plans on bowling in a League at the new Hooters Bowl and Casino when they start-up in November. CONGRATULATIONS Samson on win #7.

In 2nd Place, Paul Marcello also had a combination of GREAT games and some close calls. He takes home a $952.00, for his weekends work. He also tightened up the Bowler of the Year race with his finish. Tied for 3rd Place were two Members, both coming up just short of winning their first Tour Title. Nelson Sand and Harold Soares, each won $408.00, for making the Semi-Final Match.

The PROGRESSIVE POT jumps to $2,072.00 for Narrows Plaza next Saturday. So it could be another $2,000.00+ payday for someone!!
