Champion C.J. Jones

Sorry that Margie and I missed all the action this weekend! We're at the "National Bowling Stadium" in Reno. Margie's bowling in the Women's USBC National Tournament as I'm typing this note from the stands. Next week, it's my turn. Fred and I will be bowling in Las Vegas, along with several other 9-Tap Tour members, including Leo & Mona Harris coming over from Hawaii. See you all on the 18th at Roxbury!

We had 108 Entries at Bowlero with 21 places paid on the 'Cash List'. C.J. Jones captured his 1st career Tour Title Saturday. He had an unusually calm demeanor and a personal affection for Bowlero lanes Saturday and turned it into his first ever 9-Tap Tour victory. Cheered on by his girlfriend Kelli and his buddy Pat Robbins,(who won his first title earlier this year) C.J. coasted to victory with some big games on what looked to be a somewhat mediocre scoring day. Janae O'Nail looked pretty secure in first place thru the first two squads with a score of 828, with no one else topping the 800 mark in the "Toss-Out-Your-Worst-Game" format. He used a Hammer "Black-Widow" given to him by Jon Schneider and drilled by Pat Johns, for his big win. C.J. was one of only two entrants topping the 800 plateau, his was a whopping 862. C.J. had only $10 in the Progressive Pot, so he takes home $1,359.00 for his first title and said he will use the money to pay some bills and bowl with the "House's" money for a while in the 9-Tap Tour events. Congratulations, C.J.!

On another positive note, Danny Ramos shot his first ever 300 game in his Wednesday night league at Imperial Lanes. Danny was all smiles when he checked in at Bowlero Saturday and told Fred that the Hammer Hot Sauce he had just drilled for him, really did the trick. The first one is always the most exciting! Way to go, Danny!

Don't forget next week is Easter and we have a bye weekend. The following weekend on April 18 we are at Roxbury Lanes in Seattle.
