TOURNAMENT STORY

A big turnout at Skyway Park Bowl, together with a two Top 3 finishers with $10 in the Pot, leaves a sweet Progressive Pot of $2,060.00, for next weeks Tournament at Narrows Plaza. A BIG Pot along with a "Best 3 of 4" Format, should make for another great event next week. The scores were moderate all day Saturday, but there were some BIG games. Early in the day, Samson Ibale nearly shot a Natural 300, getting the first 11 strikes before ending up with a HUGE 297. He'll be getting some recognition from USBC for the 11 strikes in a row. George Ureche is going to earn a new nickname soon, as "Mr. 9-Tap". He has had some back issues, which has limited him to 3 Tournaments this year, but has hit the Jackpot Consolation in ALL 3 Tournaments he's entered. The $100 he won this week, raises his 3 Tournament total to $850 from the Jackpot Consolation. The Jackpot still grows again, to an enormous $6,272.00. Our Skyway Park Champion is Taryn Powers, who takes her 1st career Title. She originally joined the Tour in 2004 and this was her first time back in quite a while. Taryn first shot in the 2:00 squad and struggled through a few games before she found the range in the last game. She felt good about the adjustments she'd made and decided to come back to try again in the 6:30 squad. GOOD DECISION! Her 1031 was just enough to win by 6 pins. With $10 in the Progressive Pot, her win was worth $1,410.00. Taryn said she was so focused on watching how well Roland Jarata was shooting, that she honestly didn't realize that she was bowling even better. After 3 straight Tournament winners that have been on strike with Boeing, Taryn instead was recently "Let Go" by an Escrow Company. She hopes to go to work with the Seattle Police Department. Her ball of choice was a "Complete NV" drilled by Paul Padilla at Skyway Park. Taryn wants to thank Richard Turner, Jim Watson and Tanisha Madison for their enthusiastic support. She also commented, that she enjoyed the Positive Atmosphere of all the Tour Members she met and bowled with. She has been involved in bowling for 20 years and currently bowls at Imperial Lanes on Sunday. CONGRATULATIONS Taryn! In 2nd place was a "Hot" Roland Jarata. Our Top Qualifier last week, he had this one In-the-Bag, until a 7-10 split in the 10th frame cost him the Title. His 1025 was good for a VERY nice $828.00 payday for 2nd. Tanisha Madison had the lead most of the day and it looked like she was gonna hold-on, until 2 strong finishes nosed out her 1018. She also had $10 in the Pro Pot, so she takes home $342.00 for her 3rd place finish. NEXT WEEK: Narrows Plaza 12:00 - 2:30 re-oil 4:30 - 6:30
