We were VERY pleasantly surprised by the excellent turnout for the 11:00am squad, with Paul King taking the $50 Early Bird Bonus. Then we were VERY blown away when a one squad record 58 members showed up for the 1:00 squad. We were ready with a few extra lanes and managed to not turn anyone away from that squad. Unfortunately, to meet our time limitations, we did have to turn away some entrants in our last squad. That may have prevented our breaking the record from last week at Narrows. The BIG difference... Sunday we did it in only THREE squads instead of the 4 we had at Narrows. The slogan, "BIGGER and BETTER" is becoming a reality! The scores were very nice this week and right about where they should be, with our new handicapping system. Thanks to all, for helping to make this another spectacular event!

Paul King takes his first 9-Tap Title and a nice $2,342.00 payday, with his steady 1113 score. That makes Paul our 10th first time Champion already this year. He and his wife Sharleen (Charlie) originally joined the Tour in 2006. His best previous finish was a 2nd place in a Doubles event at Tower Lanes in December 2006. Paul's 'weapon of choice' Sunday was his HAMMER "No Mercy", from Pat Johns' HiLine Proshop. He also does his league bowling at HiLine on Monday and Wednesday. Charlie was just getting over being sick, so she couldn't come down. But, that didn't keep her out of the action. She sent Paul a text message to "STAY FOCUSED"! When he was asked what he would do with his winnings, he gave the correct husbandly answer... Ask Charlie. Paul has worked at Boeing for 23 years and enjoys Fantasy Sports and watching his Grandkids sports. Congratulations Paul!!

Rob White also had his best finish this week, taking 2nd place and $1,047.00 with a fine 1065. Rob's on a hot streak, having also taken 4th at Hillcrest a few weeks ago. In 3rd, Dick Birkland, just off the "Disabled List", after shoulder surgery, surprised all of us, as well as himself, with a great 1062, good for $434.
