What a day at Cascade! We had a little bit of everything Saturday. The power went out for most of the local area, but stayed on at the Bowling Center after a few flickers. Nobody managed to throw more than 3-No Taps to start a game, but 8 bowlers tied with three, so we paid out $400 from the Jackpot. Tong Nguyen managed the get 3 No-Taps THREE separate times, taking $150 of the Jackpot money himself. Bob Rouse managed another Tour first, shooting his 1st No-Tap 300. What was unique, was that Bob had 2 splits... both coming when he shot on the wrong lane. Just short of $6,000.00 was paid out for the Tournament, not counting $1,150 worth of merchandise (Balls-Bag-Sonics Tickets) awarded to the Top Finishers in the 2007 Bowler of the Year competition.

Rollie Abella was the Cascade Champion, shooting a very nice 858 and holding off several members who took a run at him in the late afternoon, to take home the $1855.00 winners share. The game that Rollie threw out was a nice 229, while other Top 10 finishers threw out games ranging from 172 to 235. This is his 1st Tour Championship, having first joined the Tour in 2005. Rollie's ball was a Track "Heat II" that he had drilled back in New Jersey. He does his league bowling at both Cascade and Majestic Lanes. There was quite a large party in the restaurant after the Tournament, with Rollie and his Fan Club. He asked us thank his close friends Mike Ducay, Edgar Caindec and Mholee Divina, who he always bowls with, and Lee and Navar at the Front desk, for their support. He said some of his winnings would go to paying bills, with the majority going to his wife Maribel. Rollie also enjoys fishing and babysitting his grandchildren. Rollie is also a member representitive to the Tour's Liaison Committee, that had a great deal of imput into the changes made this year. CONGRATULATIONS Rollie!

In 2nd place and $932.00 went to Bob Rouse shooting a great 834. Bob's now famous 300 game will someday go into the Tour "Hall of Fame" with a double asterix. Tong Nguyen broke his Top 3 drought, getting 'nosed-out' by 3 pins, throwing a fine 831 and taking home $441.00 plus his $150 from the 9-Tap Jackpot.
