Wrap Up

What a great time at Sam’s Town

Like always, Tom and his crew make things happen.  Thank you for a great weekend Sam’s Town.

You all should give yourselves a pat on the back, for making the LV 9-Tap Tour fun and great competition.   All your kind words to us make this so exciting to make happen for everyone.

As we know our crew is exhausted from the weekend of excitement, plus our trip back and forth.  Thank you to all our crew and new crew members for your dedication and input for things we do.  We have planned for the Multi-Region and will be at the Gold Coast all weekend with you all.

Our 9-Tap Jackpot took a hit this last weekend by one of our newest members to join the tour just weeks ago at Suncoast.  This week he got some very lucky leaves to knock down 9 to end up hitting the Jackpot.  CongratsPercival (Val) Cabase for winning $1798 and your video is not only on Facebook, but also on our you tube channel.  Now joining Ann McGee who won back in Dec. 2023

Our Cinderella story this weekend sounded a lot like one that happened in the Puget Sound Region.  We were talking to the Director of the Puget Sound and comparing stories.  They had a similar story we are going to share with you all.  Remember anyone at anytime can win, no matter your average or HDCP.  (It’s all based off how you’re feeling and rolling for the day. Always stay positive!)

Puget Sound Region Story:

Years ago, Mitch was the highest average bowler on the Puget Sound Tour, with an average that climbed so high he was bowling that day with -11 pins per game handicap.  Making it to the Bracket Finals Championship Match, he faced a 70-year-old young lady who was exhausted after bowling 5 games to reach that Match.  But... she had been in a groove all day and it certainly continued into the Championship Match!  Despite the SEVENTY-FOUR pin difference in handicap, she beat him... SCRATCH, to earn the Title!!!  You just never know!!!

L.V. Region this last weekend:

“Our winner this week is like their story,  She has a 125-book average in league and a 142 average with the 9-Tap Tour max HDCP is 70.  She just happens to have 3 bonus pins for not being on the cash list for a long time.  Her opponent had been bowling good all weekend even into the bracket finals. His average has been going up each week with his outstanding bowling.  So, his HDCP was at 29 pins for the Quarterly Championship this last weekend.  Having a 44-pin difference, he knows an open frame could cost the game.  They came down to the last few frames and came down to only 16 pins difference at the finish.”

Our winner came to me a few weeks ago joking, asking where her tour shirt was?  “We let her know when she wins, we can buy her one, LOL.”  Very funny that was only 3 weeks ago.  Not only bowling great all weekend, but she also only rolled in the 12:30pm squad, every game was 20+ pins higher than her average, with her third game being 98 pins higher, 240 scratch which is outstanding.  Once into the bracket final she never rolled below her average, 4 games once again all over her average,  beating a few of her opponents a few pins under scratch. “So, anything is possible here at the 9-Tap Tour”.

Congratulations to Judy Garland for not only winning her very first tournament ever, but a Quarterly Championship at that.  She came in with a smile like always tightening up her Dexter BOA’s, got out her Roto Grip Magic Gem and got ready to bowl.  Her ball was made ready by the South Point Pro Shop Judy and her husband John both roll on the tour and help us out.  John is one of our main floor directors and won his first title back in Sept 2023.  Now this is our first husband and wife duo to win a title.  Judy bowls the Fil-Am, Sand Dollars and Free runners all at South Point.  With her winnings from this weekend, she plans on taking the family to dinner, (Hope she calls us, LMAO).  Judy works at a local Credit Union in the Vegas area.  She was a very nervous wreck doing her very first bracket finals ever, Judy had her husband John right there letting her know she’s got this.  She is still in awe over winning her very first individual tournament ever.  She also has a very nice message for us at the Tour, “ Thank you Nick and Elaine and every one of the 9-tap crew for a Fabulous Tap Tour Tournament”.  (Thank you so much Judy for the great compliment).  "We've both have been bowling for a very long time, which makes this sport so important to us".  Judy’s other hobbies include going to the gym working out and listening to KPOP music.  Congratulations, again Judy for holding strong and not letting one bad shot bring you down.

Coming into 2nd place and just winning on March 16th at Suncoast is Nick Foley.  He also had a shot at tying the 9-tap Jackpot, but his 3rd frame came out to a sold pocket shot knocking down all 10 then continued with the next 4 no taps.  He had the normal ups and downs and held out to make the bracket finals.  Nick also had another outstanding weekend rolling again. Great job with all the extra practice and hard work you’re putting in Nick.  Always smiling and having a positive attitude makes for a great day bowling.  Way to go again Nick

3rd Place is no stranger to the tour or to being a Tour Champion,  way to go Robert Rawling on making it into the bracket finals and squeaking out the win by 3 pins.  Robert is only one of the few to hold 6 championships and the covenanted Black shirt with the added Stars

Jason Cazar our last weeks winner also made the bracket finals and worked his way to just be short by the 3 pins to Robert.  Still a very outstanding weekend for all to bowl so well making the finals and having fun with our bracket style to have a fun day.
