Tournament Wrap Up

The Elite Tour grew by an impressive TWENTY-FIVE New Members Sunday.  We THANK everyone for helping us to get the word out!!  With four other Tournaments going on this weekend (at Vegas-Oregon-Paradise-Pacific), we were happy to have 47 entries and again Top the $1,200.00 mark for 1st Place.  We even had a near miss on the Elite 9-Tap Jackpot Sunday.  Brian Selckearned a nice $250.00 for starting his 3rd game with the first SIX Taps.  He came within ONE TAP of taking down the Jackpot, sadly being felled by a real strike on the 7th shot.  Over at the 9-Tap Tour the Jackpot hasn't been hit for over a year, so that would have been impressive to have it hit by the Elite Tour in only the 2nd Tournament.  The scores took a nice jump this week, leading to a tight finish and a very well balanced Cash List.  ***We'll be extending the $10 discount on New Memberships for one more week.***

Our second Elite Tour Champion is Kevin Hong, who put together 4 very consistent games, winning the Title without needing any huge games.  Kevin gave credit for his consistency to his practicing and bowling leagues (HiLine) only on SportConditions.  He also credited Pat Johns for his help and for drilling the Ebonite 'Maxim' that he used to earn his first Tour Title.  Kevin and several other bowlers shot in another tourney earlier Sunday, but came-up short of the finals.  So, he came to Secoma and made the most of his second effort of the day, pocketing a hefty $1,205.00 for the Win.  His series was the high Scratch series of the day, but he wasn't aware of the Scratch Pot that would have added a little extra green icing.  He plans to use some of his winnings for new equipment and the rest for upcoming trips.  Kevin teaches Elementary School, also runs a Summer Camp and still finds time to do Fine-Art Photography.  CONGRATS Kevin!

In 2nd Place, Steve Freeman came close to his first Tour Title.  A veteran of the 9-Tap Tour for the last year, Steve recently had his previous best finish, also at Secoma, when he took 3rd.  His strong 1032 was worth a sweet $575.00 payday.  Another Tour Vet,Skip Shear finished just four pins back in 3rd with a 1028 worth a tidy $355.00.  Bob Davidson got the biggest piece of the Scratch Pot with a 971, worth an extra $120.00.
